Current Projects on the board:

MENC Follow-up
Follow-up to the February 2007 MENC Northwest Regional Conference will be four-fold:

1) Communication (now and continually) with educators that left us their contact information to find out where we can help and support their music programs.
2) Building on-going communication links with MENC members in the NW and Western Canada.
3) Preparing to attend future state and regional conferences of MENC.
4) Search out other conventions/conferences happening within the District boundaries where we can also promote barbershop youth programs.

If you'd like more information about youth acappella activities, school support, and camps happening in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, please fill in the information on the Contact Us page.

MENC Conference Presentation
Background: February 15-17, 2007, The SUMMIT hosted a booth at the regional MENC conference held in Portland, OR, to talk to music educators about opportunities for youth in summer music camps, include barbershop in school music programs, and opportunities for music educators. The goal is to gain recognition as a source of sheet music, education, performance, and support for school music programs. Our primary focus is on the youth music activities and music camps within the District boundaries. Rick Spencer from BHS spoke at the conference. Hourly drawings for CDs donated by various quality quartets were held and several quartets performed in conjunction with the SUMMIT booth.
